Amy Winehouse and Kanye West are the top 2008 Grammy Awards winners as Winehouse wins five Grammy Awards and West winning four awards.

British pop singer Amy Winehouse has won five Grammy Awards, including that for best new artist. Her song Rehab was chose as song of the year.

The American rapper Kanye West won four Grammy Awards, one for the best rap song Stronger and another for the best rap album Graduation. Bruce Springsteen won three awards. The White Stripes, Justin Timberlake and Mary J Blige won two Grammy Awards each.

Just moments after performing “You Know I’m No Good” and “Rehab” from a London studio Amy Winehouse heard her named called for Record of the Year, continuing her run through the 50th Grammy Awards.

Winehouse took Record of the Year for “Rehab” the almost prophetic single that made the 24-year-old singer a household name in 2007.

Unable to attend the Grammy Awards in person due to a problem securing a visa Winehouse received the award in London, beating out “Irreplaceable,” Beyonce; “The Pretender,” Foo Fighters; “Umbrella,” Rihanna featuring Jay-Z; and “What Goes Around…Comes Around,” Justin Timberlake.
