Kallur Fastest Woman in the World

It was a rather successful weekend for Sweden’s sportsmen and –women. Swedish athlete Sanna Kallur is now the fastest woman in the world.

Starting at the international athletics meet in Karlsruhe/Germany on Sunday, Kallur broke the indoor world record in 60 meter hurdles with the time 7,68 sec. Thereby, Kallur exceeded the old world record previously held by Russian Ludmila Engquist of 1990 by one hundredth.

In the Davis Cup’s round of the last 16, Sweden’s men beat Israel with 3-2 and are now facing the team of Argentina abroad in the quarter finals.

But Sweden’s ice hockey team merely reached a disappointing third place in a small tournament held in Stockholm after loosing against Finland with 1-2.
