Richard Zednik of Florida Panthers continues to recover Monday morning at Buffalo General Hospital after undergoing surgery for a neck laceration suffered during Sunday’s game against the Sabres.
Certainly, Richard, his family, teammates, and the entire Panther organization sincerely appreciate the overwhelming show of support from fans and players around the world.

Dear Mr. Zednik,
Yesterday I was a Sabres fan but last night when you got injured I was your fan. I prayed for your safety and recovery. I will continue to pray for you and your family. This injury is just a freak accident that, and we are luck, doesn't happen very often. I wish to give you my best wishes and hope for a full recovery and that you will be able to get through this terrible time. Last night I saw a city, that really loves their hockey team, not care about how the game ended or how many points their team got or anything that pertained to the game last night but for the well being of you.

Get well soon! As soon as I heard the news I rushed to both a tv and computer to see how you were. I'm so glad you're going to be alright. I'm sorry that you were the unfortunate one to suffer such a horrible injury, but we can't wait for you to return to the ice! It's good to hear that you've got a terrific loving wife, teammates, coaching staff, medical personnel, and a whole ton of fans, that have rushed to your side. I just couldn't believe what I saw on Sports Center! The fact that you were level headed enough to get back to the bench was the difference between this being a horrible accident and a complete tragedy!
Think of it this way, you will probably have the coolest scar in the NHL!
