
In its grouping of the world’s 30 most developed economies, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, pushed Sweden further up its scale.
Sweden now shares 9th place with Denmark. That’s a jump from 2006 and 11th place.
According to newspaper Dagens Nyheter, in 2007, Swedes enjoyed 15% more purchasing power than in an average OECD country. Sweden has also started to catch up with the richest in the OECD group, leaving the economic crisis of the 1990s behind.
