He was in the country visiting relatives when he was detained at the airport on February 1. Other family members were also taken into custody but were subsequently released.
The Swedish Foreign Ministry is following the case and has asked for a meeting with the man. While his Swedish lawyer does not know which charges have been filed, Swedish daily Expressen says the man is one of four Swedes who were imprisoned in Ethiopia in 2006.
