Teen falls off Carnival cruise ship during graduation celebration

The United States Coast Guard is searching for an 18-yr old who reportedly fell overboard off a Carnival Cruise Lines ship.

The teen, Bruce O'Krepki Jr. was celebrating his recent High School graduation with a group of friends when he reportedly fell overboard about 150 miles southwest of Tampa.

A statement from Carnival Cruise Lines says, "“Upon learning of the missing guest, the ship’s command immediately initiated search and rescue operations and notified the U.S. Coast Guard.

The Carnival Fantasy participated in search and rescue operations with the Coast Guard until the ship was released at 2:50 a.m. The Carnival Fantasy then resumed sailing toward to Key West where it expected to arrive at approximately 1 p.m. today. The U.S. Coast Guard continues to search for the missing individual,”.

The ship, Fantasy, was on a seven-day cruise en route to Key West and Nassau, before returning to New Orleans Saturday.
