Two 5-C130 aircraft also known as "Hurricane Hunters" arrived at Hawaii's Hickam Air Force Base due to the looming threat of Hurricane Felicia. The planes, part of the United States Air Force Reserve will be vital in tracking Felicia as she churns toward the state.

The Hurricane Hunters will operate on a 48- hour rotation with a new plane taking off every 12 hours. In all there will be 5 planes, with 4 in service. A smaller plane owned by the National Weather Service (NWS) will begin probing the hurricane tonight.

Hurricane Felicia hit it's peak strength as a dangerous category 4 hurricane, but has since weakened to a category 2. The NHC predicts Felicia will likely only be a tropical storm, or tropical depression by the time it impacts Hawaii. No matter what the strength, people with interests in Hawaii should monitor the storm very closely.
