Members of the Swedish Temperance movement, IOGT-NTO are leaving the organisation in droves after the movement decided to exclude a controversial pastor who has openly slammed homosexuality from the pulpit.

Åke Green hit the headlines several years back after calling homosexuality ”a cancer on society”.

IOGT-NTO have now decided to exclude the pastor because he broke the organisation’s charter, which says it should work for individuals right to happiness, personal development and happiness. It says his comments on homosexuality contradict those aims.

Now over one thousand members have quit the organisation in just a few weeks, many of them from the pastor’s home county.
