Apple Announces 2GB iPod Shuffle and Cut Prices for 1GB player

Apple today released new iPod Shuffle lineup with double storage space and new lower prices. From now you can get this cute matchbook-size digital music player for just $49 for 1GB model.

In this new line new 2GB models has been introduced and they will be available somewhere later this month for $69 a piece. This new prices are almost half of previous prices that were $79 for 1GB model.

Both 1GB and 2GB models feature a built-in clip and ships in five colors - silver, blue, green, purple, and red for special Red lineup, company charity movement that donates a portion of sales from designated products to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.

With this new storage capacity you can store 500 songs while on the cheapest 1GB version about 240 can be stored.

Apple has also announced that "American Idol" fans will be able to download their favorite performances from iTunes for 99 cents per song, thanks to the new agreement with Fox network.
