The Swedish foreign ministry is recommending that Swedes refrain from travelling to northern Kosovo.
The region has been the scene of violent protest demonstrations from the Serbian majority there - angry over Kosovo’s declaration of independence from Belgrade.
So far, Sweden has not recognized Kosovo as an independent state as a number of other European Union members have done – but the Swedish government indicates that this is just a question of time.
