Suitable Trampoline Mats For Your Jumping Style

The most important part of your trampoline comes in various shapes, sizes and designs check out which shape suits your nature of jumping.

Trampoline mats is arguably the most important part of a trampoline. Also called the trampoline bed, this is certainly the first thing people notice and check before buying a trampoline. The jumping surface of the trampoline comes in variety of sizes, shapes and designs, out of which round ones in all the sizes are the most common for non competitive jumping as they do not offer high bounce. They provide a measure of safety as they pull the jumper towards the centre, round mats offer less pressure on the springs, material quality can be compromised; hence it is financially attractive to the general backyard jumper. The downside to the round trampoline mat, however, is that because jumpers are pulled toward the center, more than one jumper at a time is not recommended.

However, in competitive jumping rectangular mats are used, they have been used in Olympics, circuses and many other by the professional jumpers. Rectangular trampolines give a much stronger bounce as compared to the round ones. They provide much higher jump, thereby making it much suitable for gymnastics and trick trampolining. The springs attached to the rectangular mat in rectangular trampolines are arranged in a criss-cross pattern. Hence, makes the jump a much uniform than the one with round one. As the jumping surface is larger, more than one jumper can jump at a time, and it is less likely to have their balance thrown off. The straight side of the rectangular trampoline mat also gives the jumper a much better orientation than with a circular mat.

Other shapes include octagonal, square, and custom designed shapes.
