Women entrepreneurs in the Southend area are invited to join an innovative new club set up by the School of Entrepreneurship and Business (SEB) at the University of Essex.
The Creative Women Enterprise Club is being launched on Thursday, 13 March, aiming to support women in the creative industries by developing entrepreneurial skills for better employment and business creation opportunities.
With the increasing recognition of the role that women play in the Creative sector, this initiative is set to provide a platform for creative, entrepreneurial and innovative women to share experiences, network with peers locally and globally and develop initiatives for businesses in the Creative Industries.
One of the most powerful businesswomen in Europe, Candace Johnson, President, Europe Online, will be the guest speaker at the event, hosted by SEB in Southend.
SEB will work closely with the club, funded in part by the European Social Fund Objective 2 Programme . The members will meet regularly to discuss new ideas, business opportunities, new markets and networks. The women will be encouraged to raise work-related issues with a view to supporting each other for both individual and collective projects.
All women who are eligible will be offered a free short training course, worth £2400 and will be able to work towards a Postgraduate Certificate from the University, which will go towards a Masters degree.
