Hubbard Street Dance At McCallum Theatre

The internationally acclaimed Hubbard Street Dance Company presents an evening of contemporary works at the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert, California, on Thursday, February 28, at 8:00pm. With their signature bold athleticism that combines modern, jazz and ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago has been an innovative force in dance for 30 years.

Under the dynamic leadership of artistic director Jim Vincent, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago displays a powerful and diverse repertoire from choreographers around the world, in a program that is sure to thrill, inspire, and engage any audience.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago is a company of bold energy and arresting virtuosity. They boast an internationally acclaimed ensemble offering captivating works by such renowned contemporary choreographers as Jiri Kylian, Susan Marshall, Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe and Marguerite Donlon. This season, the company will be celebrating its 30th anniversary by reviving pieces that highlight its 30 year history, along with exciting new works from Jorma Elo (created to a commissioned composition by British composer Mark Anthony Turnage), Japanese choreographer Toru Shimazaki and Lar Lubovitch, and sensational new offerings created by company members, including dancers Brian Enos and Alejandro Cerrudo, artistic associate Lucas Crandall and artistic director Jim Vincent

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago has been an audience favorite for many years. The company has appeared nationally and internationally at celebrated dance venues including the American Dance Festival, DanceAspen, the Holland Dance Festival, Jacob's Pillow, The Joyce Theater, the Kennedy Center, Ravinia Festival and at Italy's Spoleto Festival of Two Worlds, and the French American Performing Arts Center in Paris. Additionally, Hubbard Street has been performing with renowned orchestras and world-class conductors including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, with both Pinchas Zukerman and David Robertson conducting, the National Arts Centre Orchestra of Ottawa, and, most recently, the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, Sir Andrew Davis conducting.
