Today at embedded world in Nürnberg, ICD presents how they have integrated their Control Design Platform (CDP) with Trolltech’s Qt.

CDP, is a C++ control system that provides application developers with a powerful toolbox to develop advanced control systems in a fraction of the time otherwise required. The CDP libraries will integrate seamlessly with Qt and Qtopia libraries, bringing together the power of embedded Linux and advanced user interface development in the world of real-time control applications.

Using CDP, application developers can instantly connect their Qt or Qtopia based applications to a wide range of industrial standard interfaces, such as CANopen and Modbus. CDP also provides application developers with an extensive framework for test and simulation, including tools to perform hardware testing.

“Industrial Control Design’s integration of Qt strengthens the unique position Qt has as a proven cross-platform development tool for advanced industrial embedded solutions. We are convinced that customers with high quality demands can shorten the time to market through the seamless integration of ICD’s and Trolltech’s development tools” said Karsten Homann, Vice President of Professional services at Trolltech.

Customers like Rolls-Royce's Marine division have already positioned CDP as part of their Common Control Platform, making it the core of their control system architecture.
