Leaders of the opposition Green Party says they do not now want Sweden to leave the EU.

The Green Party has long been one of Sweden’s most eurosceptical political parties and the demand to leave the European Union has been a cornerstone of the party’s politics for years, but Maria Wetterstrand now says that times have changed. Among those things that have made her change her mind are the EU’s common stand against climate change and the union’s expansion into central and eastern Europe.

The other Green Party spokesperson, Peter Eriksson says that he too wants to remove the demand to pull out of the EU, and is calling for a vote among party members on the issue.
