The IAEA was called in to inspect the plant on Sweden’s eastern coast after a series of incidents at the plant nearly two years ago which raised serious safety concerns.
In July 2006, the Forsmark 1 reactor had to be shutdown after two of four back up generators which supply power to the reactor’s cooling system, malfunctioned, raising fears of a reactor meltdown.
A damning report into safety standards at Forsmark was later published.
Although the IAEA inspectors have completed their work, a report into their findings won’t be published until the autumn.
