If Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick does not resign, the City Council of Detroit will force him out. That from an approval of a resolution telling the Mayor that is time to resign. This chain of events is directly related to the sex text message scandal between Kilpatrick and Christine Beatty his former Chief of Staff.
The Mayor has repeatedly said he will not resign.
Backers of the resolution are Councilman Kwame Kenyatta, Martha Reeves (yes that Martha Reeves), and Brenda Jones.
The resolution will get a full vote next Tuesday.
