Cardiff University is to mark St David’s Day

Cardiff University is to mark St David’s Day, in its 125th anniversary year, with a public lecture delivered by the Secretary of State for Wales.

The Rt Hon Paul Murphy MP, will deliver the annual St David’s Day public lecture, hosted by the University’s Welsh Governance Centre (6 March).

Mr Murphy’s first public engagement as Secretary of State was at Cardiff University where he launched the University’s new Confucius Institute. In his St David’s Day lecture Mr Murphy, who first held the post of Secretary of State for Wales in 1999, will discuss 'A Return to the Wales Office - A Personal View.'

The First Minister, Rhodri Morgan and devolution experts, Professor Michael Keating and Professor James Mitchell are amongst those who have delivered previous St David’s Day lectures.

A reception will be held in the Tower Building, Park Place, CF10 3AT (5.15 pm) followed by the lecture (6pm - 7pm) in Lecture Theatre 0.22, Law Building, Museum Avenue, Cardiff, CF10 3AT.
