The Los Angeles marathon came to an end and winners are already known. LA Times reports that Tatiana Aryasova from Russia and Kenyan Laban Moiben (in men) are the winners of L.A. Marathon.
Aryasova led the women easily for most of the race; Laban Moiben passed to the front of the men’s field in the second half and became the winner of Los Angeles Marathon.
"Wearing T-shirts and top hats, stocking caps and fright wigs, running with dogs and children and thoughts of absent loved ones, a field of about 25,000 runners took to the streets of a sunny, warm city Sunday morning for the 23rd Los Angeles Marathon."
By the way speaking of the LA Marathon organizer's official website the link of which is above. Our critique goes to them for not properly updating current events on their website.
Not only there is no single press release or news update about today's marathon in Los Angeles, but also the names of the winners are not even yet posted on the site.
However, this may be because of the reason that The Los Angeles Marathon doesn't attract the same high-level fields as marathons in Boston, Chicago, New York, London and elsewhere. One of the main reasons is that the L.A. Marathon is contested so early in the calendar year and because the $215,000 prize money is paltry compared with the purses offered at other major races.
