Performances will be held Saturday, March 8 at 8PM and Sunday, March 9 at 3PM in the Forum located at 5th and Walnut Streets in downtown Harrisburg. A pre-concert lecture will be given by Stuart Malina and composer, Jennifer Higdon, one hour prior to each concert. Tickets are $10- $51, depending on seating area.
Don't miss HSO's next Masterworks concert on April 5 & 6, Voices of Peace & Joy. Glorious symphonic and vocal performances include Dona Nobis Pacem by Vaughan Williams and Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. Featured vocalists will include Theresa Santiago, Soprano; Krista River, Mezzo-Soprano; Dinyar Vania, Tenor; Raymond Diaz, Baritone; as well as the Susquehanna Chorale, the Alumni Chorale of Lebanon Valley College, Messiah College Concert Choir, and the Messiah College Choral Arts Society.
CHRISTOPHER ROSE
Christopher Rose is a familiar face to Harrisburg Symphony audiences. He has been the orchestra's principal percussionist since February of 1998. When he is not performing in Harrisburg, Rose is a member of "The President's Own" United States Marine Band in Washington, DC. He has been a percussionist with the band since 1997 and has held the title of assistant principal percussionist since 2001. He currently holds the rank of Master Sergeant.
As a percussionist with "The President's Own", Christopher gained extensive experience as a soloist, to include Concerto for Four Percussionists by William Kraft, Deja vu by Michael Colgrass and Converging Worlds by Jonathan Leshnoff. He was most recently featured as soloist on the band's 49 day, Fall 2007 concert tour of the Northeastern United States performing William Childs' Concerto for Percussion and Concert Band. -- www.harrisburgsymphony.org
