Creative Heirlooms For Your Family

Many of us love collecting bits and pieces as reminders of special occasions or meaningful stages in our lives.

Bringing these precious items together in a way that creates a treasured album which can be passed from generation to generation, is the focus of a new series of workshops, Introduction to Scrapbooking, that are being hosted by the River & Rowing Museum, Henley-on-Thames, kicking-off on Saturday 3rd February.

The half-day workshops will demonstrate useful techniques and provide inspiring ideas to help people discover and develop their arts and crafts skills for creating beautiful albums to show and pass on to family members. Participants will also learn how to preserve the photographs and everyday scraps that are used so that they will remain in good condition for many years to come.

Experienced scrapbooker and tutor Alison Drummond Jones comments: "Arts and crafts work, fun in itself, is so much more enjoyable when you share the experience with others. Women have done this for centuries and Scrapbooking is the modern equivalent of this traditional pursuit." -- www.rrm.co.uk
