Professor Steve Young, Head of the Information Engineering Division, will introduce an exciting programme that brings together researchers from multiple disciplines across the University, from engineering to social anthropology and experimental psychology to computer science, as well as speakers from other institutions including Microsoft Research Europe.
A panel discussion moderated by Dr Alan Blackwell from the Computer Laboratory will be followed by a closing address by Professor David MacKay from the Cavendish Laboratory.
Horizon Seminars provide participants with a first look at new developments in the most exciting areas of science and technology at Cambridge. The events bring together experts from academia and industry and provide an insight into the cutting edge of interdisciplinary research.
‘The Thinking Machine?’ will take place at the Queen’s Building, Emmanuel College, Cambridge, on 18 March. The Horizon Seminar series is organised by the University of Cambridge's Research Services Division (RSD).
