NAS200 Includes Space to Attach Two SATA Hard Drives and Two USB Hard Drives for Easy and Affordable Network Attached Storage
From the 2007 International Consumer Electronic Show, Linksys, a Division of Cisco Systems, Inc., and the recognized leading global manufacturer of voice, wireless, and networking hardware for home, Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) and small business user, today announced its entry-level networked attach storage solution, the Network Storage System with 2 Bays (NAS200).
The NAS200 enables consumers to share, utilize, and secure valuable data over their networks. It includes two 3.5 inch SATA drive bays and two USB slots for additional storage capacity. A web-based management utility helps make the NAS200 easy to configure, and one-touch backup of important files is done with the touch of a button.
"Digital photos, music, and videos are requiring more storage capacity than ever before as the connected home continues to grow,"Â said Mani Dhillon, director of product marketing, consumer business organization, Linksys. "With the NAS200, Linksys is giving consumers the opportunity to choose the hard drive capacity that is right for them, and to easily backup their irreplaceable personal content such as digital photos."Â
True Networked Attached Storage
As a true networked attached storage device, the NAS200 does not require a client utility that must be run on PC. Simply install one or more hard drives in the Network Storage System and connect it to an Ethernet port on a router or switch. The Network Storage System can also be set up to be accessible directly from the Internet via a web browser of FTP utility - Linksys.
