Stephanie Dee just won the $2.2 million grand prize in this year’s HGTV Dream Home Giveaway, including a beach house in the Florida Keys and a new GMC Yukon Hybrid!

The Grand Prize winner Stephanie Dee will receive a prize package that includes a fully-furnished home with over 3,500 square feet of living area, a 2008 GMC Yukon Hybrid, a state of the art kitchen with high end appliances, and since Islamorada is the sport fishing capital of the world, there's even a room dedicated to fishing! Located in the garage of the home -- this room includes fishing equipment, maps, and everything an avid fisherman could want! The house will feature deep porches with beautiful views of the Florida Bay, and will evoke a casual elegance while providing the finest luxuries, comforts and conveniences in this tropical paradise.

Quotting from Gazetteonline.com - ""I'm still overwhelmed," Dee said minutes after the HGTV cable network announced she'd won its annual Dream Home Giveaway.

Stephanie Dee, 31, wasn't certain when she and husband Tommy, 33, and their two young daughters will be able to visit the dream home, a fully furnished three-story beach house in the Florida Keys outside Islamorada.

"I'm not quite sure yet," she said. "This is all very sudden."

#1 Winner of HGTV Dream Home

I saw the winner tonight! Of course, I am envious, but here is a question for you!

How come sweepstakes winners always seem to have beautiful houses already (never apartments or condos), look like they have a ton of money already and don't need anymore, and are extremely less than enthusiastic and excited when they win? I was so excited for her and she was like, Oh well, isn't that special. And that comment about, Oh now I have to get a pet! I would give almost anything to be able to have a dog or a cat!

What do these people do to attract more into their lives that many less than comfortable or even poor people don't do? Sorry to be negative, but if I would have won this home, I would have been bawling like a baby, fainting, jumping up and down like a monkey or screaming! And when asked when I was going to Islamorada, I would have said that I am booking a flight now or getting in my car and driving down to Florida tonight!!! I know many, many people who could have really used this house and vehicle and would have been truly grateful.

I can't believe I watched the entire hour for this unexciting win. The husband made it obvious that they knew about it ahead of time, so they had plenty of time to practice being excited. (Isn't it illegal to deceive the public like this?)People who win ALOT less on game shows show more enthusiasm than this. Oh well, life goes on!

#2 Winner of the HGTV Islamorada HOme

I watched the HGTV Islamorada Home give-away on tv recently.
I could not believe this woman stood there like an idiot when she won it.

I would have been jumping up and down...screaming my head off and she stood there like a block of stone without any emotion what so ever! She was scratching her head and just standing there!

It was very irritating to see such a nit wit win! Couldn't she at least have given an audible "THANK YOU?" And then she had the audacity to say..."gee..I don't know when we will visit the house..!" What a dumb bell.

Maybe you should screen to see if the person winning actually has a pulse before giving the 2.2 million dollar house away. I hope she will go to a counselor and get lessons on "emotions" with some of the money!
