Sizzling slide guitar and hot rocking harmonica will fill the Lawrence House Studio at the Grand on Thursday 27th March as Studio Blues 2008 continues in sensational style with Paul Lamb & Johnny Dickinson.
Magnificent musicians Paul Lamb & Johnny Dickinson are joining forces for a short tour of selected venues to perform a never to be repeated show of acoustic folk and blues.
Paul Lamb is hailed by aficionados and music press around the world as Europe's foremost blues harmonica exponent and was recently inducted into the British Blues Awards Hall Of Fame. His unique harmonica skills are constantly in demand and following chart success with Harmonica Man (under the pseudonym of Bravado) with Pete Waterman, he has worked with Mark Knopfler, The Who, Rod Stewart, and Jimmy Nail amongst others. The BBC has contracted him on many occasions to score and perform various TV soundtracks, and his harmonica playing can be heard on many television advertisements. He has also had his music featured in three motion pictures.
Paul is joined by the most potent slide guitar player in the UK, Johnny Dickinson. Johnny was a member of legendary Northumbrian band Splitcrow whose first album Rockstorm was named 'the best album from a Brit band in 10 years' by Kerrang magazine. He has since toured as a solo artist and band member to great acclaim and been nominated for many prestigious awards including the BBC Radio 2 Horizon Award and been named Best Musician in the 2006 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. -- www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk
