Child Protection Services say it is unlikely Australian children are depicted in the 500,000 thousand child pornography images seized from a pornography ring.
Eighteen men have been charged in Western Australia during an operation which ended today.
Those charged with possessing child pornography range from 20 to 60 years of age and include two school teachers.
Detective Constable Jamie Merritt from the Child Protection Agency says the images were not made by Australian paedophiles.
"In regards to children being at risk we haven't identified anyone of those images coming from Australia but we have identified through the internet service providers and the internet crime squad that the images were obtained from overseas," he said.
