Morgan Benjamin recently delivered a staged approach to the upgrade to Cognos 8.2, which has been implemented in a bid to further streamline the programme. Des Butcher, Senior Systems Analyst at the University of Warwick said, “A critical part of any IT project is the implementation and we wanted to ensure we were working with a skilled team of professionals in the BI area. We have a long standing relationship with Morgan Benjamin, having worked with one of their associates for some time – so combined with their track record and flexible approach we asked them to work with us and are extremely happy with the results.”
The Cognos tools are used to report on current student data, change management processes, process performance metrics for workflow enabled process and provide analysis of the student load across departments. Its use of Cognos Planning also enables its departments to plan student numbers with less manual effort – using a ‘what-if’ analysis to model the effect different scenarios could have on student cohorts.
Russell Facey, Business Development Director at Morgan Benjamin said, “As specialists in Business Intelligence we bring a multitude of skills to the table – not only can we advise on the technical detail of a project, but our knowledge of organisational issues is second to none.”
He concluded, “We work hard to provide a flexible service that ensures we can allow our customers to take a timed approach to implementations. The success of the implementation at Warwick University is testament to our ability to deliver on that promise.”
