
The Coppin State men's basketball team begins play in the NCAA Tournament tonight, March 18th, when they face off against the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers in the Opening Round game in Dayton, Ohio. Tip-off for the game is set for 7:30 p.m.
The game will be broadcast to a nationally televised audience on ESPN, which is channel 6 and 252 for high-definition on Comcast, channel 58 and 716 for HD on Cox cable and channel 206, HD 73 on Direct TV.
The Eagles received their bid to the tournament when they captured the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament this past weekend in Raleigh, N.C. The Eagles won four games in five days to capture their fourth conference tournament championship.
Women's Basketball
The Coppin State women's basketball team will face the University of Maryland in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, it was announced Monday night. Like the men's team, the women captured the MEAC tournament championship and received an automatic berth to the NCAA's.
The Eagles will face Maryland on Sunday March 23rd at the Comcast Center in College Park, Md., with tip-off to come thirty minutes after the first game of the day, which is scheduled for noon. This will mark the Eagles third appearance in the NCAA tournament over the last four years.
The game will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks.
