"Traditionally, Robin Hood is more of a boy's story with the fighting and bows and arrows,"Â Prewitt said. "That's why we included Maid Marian in scenes that normally just involved Robin and his Merry Men. It might be considered non-traditional, but it's what we love to do at the Cookie Company; taking the classics and updating them for today's families."Â
According to Prewitt, today's young people are very well aware of food banks and the plight of the homeless, so they can relate to Robin Hood helping the less fortunate in a way people help in today's culture. "It's a message our audience can understand and makes sense in today's lifestyle,"Â he concluded.
Directed by Robyn Allen, the story still takes places in Sherwood Forest with a very special love story that steals the heart of audience members. Providing the original, music score is Cookie Company's resident composer, Brian Kunnari, with costumes designed by Cari S. Smith.
