Good Friday and Eid-e-Milad is being celebrated today

Good Friday is being observed across the world since the Pope will hold two services commemorating Christ's crucifiction including a procession around the ruins of Rome's Colosseum and has also called on Catholics to be of service to each other and confess their sins.

Pope Benedict XVI washed and dried the feet of 12 men at a traditional Holy Thursday service, commemorating Christ's gesture of humility to his apostles on the night before he died.

The ritual was held in Rome's Basilica of St. John's in Lateran, which is the Pope's cathedral in his capacity as bishop of the Italian capital.

Christians across Kerala in India are observing Good Friday in remembrance of the divine sacrifice by Jesus Christ.

At the famous hill shrine at Malayattoor near Ernakulam, believers ascended the steep ranges of the Malayatoor hill, with symoblic cross on their shoulders.

Churches across the state commemorated the day with the symoblic ' washing the feet' ceremony, processions and holy mass.
