
Bringing together three Broadway stars and a 40-piece orchestra, Bravo Broadway! will perform five great shows of your Broadway favorites this season at McCallum Theatre Wednesday - Friday, January 17 - 19 at 8pm, and Saturday, January 20 at 2pm & 8pm.
Starring Debbie Gravitte, Christiane Knoll and Doug LaBrecque, and conducted by Larry Blank, "Bravo Broadway"Â will have you tapping your feet and singing along to your favorite Broadway hits.
Debbie Gravitte, recipient of the Tony Award for her critically acclaimed performance in "Jerome Robbin's Broadway,"Â was most recently seen in the hit Broadway production of "Chicago."Â Debbie made her Broadway debut in the original cast of "They're Playing Our Song,"Â and went on to appear in "Perfectly Frank,"Â "Blues in the Night,"Â "Ain't Broadway Grand,"Â "Zorba,"Â and "Les Miserables."Â In Concert, Debbie has sung with numerous Symphonies around the world, including The National Symphony with Marvin Hamlisch, The Cincinnati Pops with Eric Kunsel, The Atlanta Symphony, The Cleveland Orchestra and many others nationally and internationally.
Debbie can be heard on several recordings, including her two solo CD's: "The MGM Album"Â and "Part of Your World, The Music of Alan Menken."Â Debbie can also be heard as one of the voices in Disney's Classic "The Little Mermaid,"Â and can be seen in the Universal release "Isn't She Great?"Â with Bette Midler.
Christiane Knoll made her Broadway debut starring in "Jekyll & Hyde," creating the role of Emma. Ms. Noll received an Ovation Award for her comedic turn as Hope Cladwell in the National Tour of "Urinetown" and wowed audiences again as Vanna Vane in the new musical "The Mambo Kings." She has been a frequent guest soloist as part of "Bravo Broadway," as well as performances with symphony orchestras around the world, including the National Symphony and Marvin Hamlisch, the Cincinnati Pops and Eric Kunzel, the Jerusalem Symphony and Don Pippin, the Philadelphia Pops and Peter Nero. She has released three solo CD's: "Christiane Knoll - A Broadway Love Story," "The Ira Gershwin Album" and "Live at the Westbank Café." She also supplied the singing-voice of Anna in the Warner Brothers animated feature "The King and I," and starred on Broadway in "It Ain't Nothin' But The Blues."Â
Doug LaBrecque thrilled theatre audiences as The Phantom and Raoul in the Harold Prince production of "The Phantom of the Opera."Â In addition, Mr. LaBrecque has starred on Broadway as Ravenal in the Hal Prince revival of "Showboat,"Â a role he also performed in Canada and Chicago. He was featured in Oscar Hammerstein's 100th Birthday Celebration on Broadway at The Gershwin Theatre, and toured nationally with "Les Miserables."Â Regionally, Mr. LaBrecque has performed leading roles in "Candide,"Â "A Chorus Line"Â and "Man of LaMancha"Â among many others. A graduate of University of Michigan he was also featured in the world premiere of "A Wonderful Life"Â and starred in the premiere revival of "Love Life."Â
An active concert performer Doug LaBrecque has been a soloist with some of the world's finest symphony orchestras including The National Symphony, The Israel Philharmonic (Tel Aviv), The Chicago Symphony, The Cleveland Orchestra, The Minnesota Orchestra, The Houston Symphony, The Atlanta Symphony and The San Francisco Symphony, among many others. Recent international engagements have included The Korean National Symphony in Seoul, Korea, The Shanghai Radio Orchestra in China and The Brazilian Symphony Orchestra in Rio De Janeiro, among many others.
Musical Director Larry Blank Larry is currently represented on Broadway by his orchestrations for FAME BECOMES ME, the new Martin Short musical and by his Tony nominated orchestrations for THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. Larry also orchestrated WHITE CHRISTMAS which is playing various cities in the US for the holidays as well as an upcoming production in the UK. Larry also contributed new orchestrations for Barbra Streisand's recent US tour.
