Fashion Week El Paso

Local charities will benefit from the events held during Fashion Week El Paseo, set for March 23-30, 2008. The "Great White Fashion Tent" will rise on El Paseo at Larkspur to host eight events, including couture runway shows, a garden party, a black-tie gala, fashion forums, entertainment, and charity benefits.

Fashion Week El Paseo, gives back to the community with a portion of ticket sales benefiting these local charities:

"Give Back to Fashion" a free Sunday brunch with an unusual accessories boutique on March 30 - will be open to those who bring a donation of used and clean work-appropriate clothing for disadvantaged women returning to the workplace. Clothing donations will be housed at the Jackie Lee Houston Stroke Recovery Thrift Shop in Palm Springs and benefit women from Shelter From the Storm.

PACIFICA'S RUNWAY FASHION BAR

MONDAY, MARCH 24, at 7 p.m.

The outrageous launch party serves up martinis (sponsored by Pacifica Seafood Restaurant), hors d'oeuvres, and a runway show featuring fashions and accessories from more than 12 El Paseo stores. Plus, there's music, surprises, and much more.

The Big White Fashion Tent is transformed into a garden party featuring the best designers, restaurants, florists, caterers, photographers, entertainers, fashion, and more to help you create the best party ever! Participants include Le St Germain, Neil's Apparel, Caroldean El Paseo, Chapmans, Red Lantern Photography, Arrangements Floral and Party Design, TLC-Creative Productions, The Steinway Society of Riverside County, Old Town Coffee-La Quinta, A Rental Connection, Signaturevents, Ray Jacobs Creative Design, Suzy Gourmet, Wayne Foster Entertainment, McNally Enterprises, Aggreko Event Services, Table Top Elegance, J. Russell Salon and Spa, and Haute Couture Hats by Anne Albright. The afternoon also includes the debut of the Fashion Group International Table Top Plus design competition. Designers include Keith Laverty Event Design, John Moreland Designs, Karen Harlow for the Home, Paul Watson Architectural Interiors, Arrangements, House 849, Desert Wolf Interior Designs, Haute Couture Hats by Anne Albright, California Style Home Collection, Ray Jacobs Creative Design, and Just Boni at Home. TUESDAY, MARCH 25, at 7 p.m.

An entertaining and fun evening that reveals what's happening in the fashion world (and the rest of the world, too). Fashion Group International presents an intimate discussion and presentation with David Wolfe, trend analyst for Donegar Group and one of the industry's most quoted authorities. Special visit from The Margarita King.

PALM SPRINGS WOMEN IN FILM AND TELEVISION PRESENT "HOLLYWOOD HERE NOW! - A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ACTOR"

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26, at 7 p.m.

Theatrically produced fashion show with talent from the Palm Springs/Hollywood Connection. Join us for a highly entertaining evening at Fashion Week. Come see a rare collection of original Ginger Rogers' gowns spanning decades and designed by fashion icons, including Jean Louis and Nolan Miller, which she wore at the Academy Awards and other red-carpet events. Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails.

FRIDAY, MARCH 28, at 6:30 p.m.

Fashion Group International's annual gala features a champagne reception, dinner by Le St. Germain, fashion show, music, and "Fashion Rocks!" performed by Wayne Foster Entertainment, a Crystal Style award presentation to Fe Zandi, as well as presentation of awards to winners of the Table Top Plus competition. And The Margarita King is back! Tickets must be purchased by March 23.

"DESIGNER OF THE WEEK" EDUARDO LUCERO PRESENTS HIS COUTURE COLLECTION

SATURDAY, MARCH 29, at 7 p.m.

Fashion show by Fashion Week El Paseo feature designer Eduardo Lucero. Walking the runway will be Stefani Schaeffer, the 2007 winner of The Apprentice and a Palm Springs High School graduate. Wine and hors d'oeuvres presented by The Butler Did It! and a spectacular runway show! Special Eduardo Lucero cocktail by Desert Springs JW Marriott Resort & Spa and fun and drinks with The Margarita King.

"GIVE BACK TO FASHION"

SUNDAY, MARCH 30, at 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

A brunch and accessories boutique. Donate work-appropriate fashions to disadvantaged women returning to the workforce. Fashion Group International will donate your fashions to Jackie Lee's Thrift Shop, which will benefit the Stroke Recovery Center and Shelter From the Storm. Free admission with a donation of used, clean, work-appropriate clothing on hangers. (Please no worn shoes or undergarments.)
