Lion Escapes From Theatre

Posted March 22nd, 2008 by ruzik_tuzik

The Lion from Welsh National Opera’s The Magic Flute visited Marwell Zoo near Winchester today. Taking a break from rehearsals, the Lion took up residence in the Rhino enclosure for the morning for a photocall to promote the upcoming season at The Mayflower Theatre to the amusement of visitors to the Zoo.

Welsh National Opera arrive at The Mayflower later this month with a season of three operas, The Magic Flute, Eugene Onegin, and Falstaff.

The Magic Flute is packed full of operatic favourites, including one of the most spectacular of operatic arias - the magnificently evil Queen of the Night - reaching higher and higher in her fury!

Tickets for Welsh National Opera (25 – 29 March 2008) are on from The Mayflower Theatre Box Office. Marwell Zoological Park is open daily from 10am. -- www.the-mayflower.com
