Adult performers over the age of 18 with professional musical theater experience are sought for principal, supporting, and ensemble roles in SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS, HELLO, DOLLY!, MEMPHIS and SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE.
To assist performers in the audition process Producing Artistic Director David Armstrong will lead a workshop: "How to Audition for Musical Theater" on Tuesday, March 18 from 7-10 p.m. at Theatre Puget Sound, Center House Theatre (1st floor). The three-hour workshop will focus on the ten things actors desperately need to know for effective musical theater auditions in New York City or Seattle. Anyone attending this workshop will have the opportunity to sign up for a general audition appointment. The workshop is designed for all levels of professional performers.
Auditions for principal actor/singers and ensemble singers for April 14-16 are by appointment only.
Auditions for experienced dancers who sing will be held Friday, April 18 from 1- 4 p.m. and Monday, April 21 from 7-10 p.m. at The 5th Avenue Theatre.
The 5th Avenue Theatre values diversity in all areas of its operations, welcoming and encouraging auditions from people of all ethnic and cultural groups. We are dedicated to nurturing talent and hiring locally. All local and regional Equity and non-Equity actors, singers, and dancers are encouraged to audition for the 2008-2009 5th Avenue season.
All auditioners must bring a resume and a recent 8x10 headshot, which will not be returned. Additionally, all auditioners should bring sheet music in their correct key for two stylistically different songs that demonstrate vocal ability, acting ability and stage presence. Selections should be no more than one verse and one chorus in length. Short is good. An accompanist will be provided. Taped accompaniment or singing a cappella will not be permitted.
Performances run: SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS (December 3 - 28, 2008), MEMPHIS (January 27 - February 15, 2009), HELLO, DOLLY! (March 8 - 29, 2009) and SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE (April 21 - May 10, 2009). -- www.5thavenue.org
