Miami Crane Collapse Leaves at least One Dead, Injured

A portion of a large crane collapsed at a construction site in Miami and crashed through the roof of a nearby building leaving at least one dead and injuring up to five. Several people are reported to be trapped in the hole created by the collapse.

It has been just over a week since a crane collapse in New York’s East Side killed seven people.

According to CBS Report "Aerial pictures show a portion of what appears to be the crane's body lying in a giant hole in the home's tile roof.

"It is standard practice when using a high rise crane for the operator to increase its height by lifting new sections into place. It's not yet known if that was taking place when the the crane section fell."

Miami police has not yet released any names.
