This April, the Panorama Film Series at the Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA) embraces films that will tug at your heartstrings. The crowd-pleasing documentary, The Cats of Mirikitani, follows a New York City film editor who takes in a homeless, elderly Japanese-American street artist after the attacks of 9/11.

Tony ‘n’ Tina’s Wedding looks at two sweethearts from opposite sides of the track who decide to tie the knot. Forgotten Hollywood craftsmen come together to help a high school student make his first movie in Man in the Chair.

And finally, Angel on the Right, the next “Silk Road” movie that complements this season’s VIVA! & Gala Around Town mini-series, tells the tale of a criminal who must return home to make amends.

The Cleveland Museum of Art will also be screening an original, uncut edition of Ingmar Bergman’s acclaimed film, Fanny and Alexander. This popular family saga, a love letter to life and the theatre, will be shown in two parts with a ticket required for each part. The complete five-hour adventure of the early 20th century Swedish family will be shown in entirety on Sunday, April 27. -- www.clevelandart.org
