Nathan Brown has vowed to look for another coaching role when he parts ways with St George Illawarra at the end of the season.
The Dragons have appointed Wayne Bennett, who will take over for three seasons from next year.
Brown says he plans to continue coaching at the top level.
"Definitely, this won't be the last time I don't get renewed I don't think," he said.
"This is what happens to coaches all the time.
"I'm a person who likes to look at all the positive things. No negative things.
"And as I said my main goal now is to help the club have a successful year this year."
Brown says he was not surprised to be shown the door by the club he has been with for 17 years.
"No, not really," he said.
"When someone like Wayne Bennett's interested to come to your club, it's hard for the club to not show interest in someone like Wayne Bennett."
Bennett has won six premierships with current club Brisbane and also coached Queensland and Australia.
