I was not sure early in this off-season if Brady would be ready to play at the start of the year. One reason was because he had a set back after his surgery and that episode was going to pro long his ability to rehab the injury.
But when free agency came and the Patriots traded away fellow quarterback Matt Cassel, I felt better about his chances. No matter if the New England traded Cassel or not Brady still had to show he could preform on the practice field and run the offense.
In June Tom came out publicly and said that he was ready to go for the 2009 season. Brady noted that he had rehabbed his injury as much as he possibly could in order to come back and play.
Now with camps starting up Brady looks primed in practice to start again this season and play at a high level.
Even teammates have come out and acknowledged that Tom is looking better all the time, as they get closer to the season.
How Will Brady Fair in 2009?
Look for Tom Brady to have a season that is comparable to Dan Marino when he came back from a major knee problem in 1994.
That season Dan had 30 touchdowns and 4,500 passing yards. With numbers like that you can take it to the bank that the Patriots will be a playoff team and contend for the Super Bowl this season.
