LaDainian Tomlinson Could Miss Another Week for the San Diego Chargers

This year LaDainian Tomlinson was going to show the world that he was still the best running back in football. Unfortunately, for Tomlinson and the San Diego Chargers, their star runner injured his ankle, week one, against the Raiders.

Last week Tomlinson missed his first regular season game since 2004 as Darren Sproles started instead. Sproles didn't run the football well against the Baltimore Ravens, but he still had an impact.

For the game Sproles had 26 yards rushing and 124 yards receiving with a touchdown. The touchdown was an electric 81 yard score in which Sproles caught a short pass and took it the distance.

Outlook from Here

Now, Sproles is looking forward to starting once again as Tomlinson has yet to practice.

While Sproles ( 5'6, 185 pounds) is not a feature back in the NFL, he can be a deadly weapon in the Chargers' offense. I would expect the Chargers to attack the Miami Dolphins this week with a heavy pass first attack.

Look for Sproles to get a maximum of 15 carries this week and possibly recieve 8 to 10 receptions.

When Tomlinson does come back, he will be the main runner again in the offense. However, I do believe his days of being the best runner in football are now behind him.
