Denver Broncos: Correll Buckhalter is Likely to Play the Chargers

Last week the Denver Broncos didn't have their starting veteran running back Correll Buckhalter because of a high ankle sprain. This week Buckhalter is a full go in practice and is very likely to suit up for the Broncos on Monday night.

However, just because Buckhalter is getting healthy that does not mean he will get his old starting job back.

First round pick, rookie, Knowshon Moreno is expected to get his second career start in the NFL on Monday night against the rival San Diego Chargers.

Last week Moreno had a solid game in the Broncos victory over the New England Patriots.

Sooner or later this young runner was bound to take over as the starter and now is probably the time.

Will Moreno Be a Feature Back?

At some point, Moreno may be the sole carrier of the football in Denver but this year is not the time. It is hard enough for a rookie runner to last a full season, let alone carry the full load.

Look for Buckhalter to stay active in the Broncos running game for the rest of the Denver's season.

Running Will be Key to Victory

The Chargers have one of the worst defenses against the run this year. If the Broncos are to beat their rivals and remain undefeated, they will need both runners to have strong games.
