Arizona Cardinals: Anquan Boldin May Sit Against the Bears

Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver Anquan Boldin has had a less than stellar first half of the season. For the most part, this lack of production is because Boldin has been plagued by injury for the entire season.

For the past few weeks Boldin has been playing on a high ankle sprain and the ankle hasn't healed well in that time.

Because of Boldin's injury, Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt discussed the possibility of benching Boldin this week to let him rest the ankle.

So far, this week Boldin has failed to practice and is a full blown game time decision for Sunday's tilt against the Chicago Bears.

If Boldin's Out What Will the Cardinals Do?

If Boldin does, in fact, miss the game I wouldn't be surprised if the Cardinals lean on their running game.

The Bears have struggled to stop the run in recent weeks and Arizona should be able to take advantage of that.

Another bonus to running the ball is that they can control the clock on the road. In many road games, the Cardinals would usually play their heavy pass first style but because of the situation running is a strong possibility.

Look for Cardinals first round pick rookie running back Chris "Beanie" Wells to have a solid game. Fellow runner Tim Hightower should produce as well.

As far as Boldin goes, sitting him down for a week or two is a good idea. When a player has a high ankle sprain the best way for them to heal is to stay off the ankle and get rest.
