Reds welcome back Cordingley

The Queensland Reds will have skipper Sam Cordingley back for Sunday morning's (Australian time) Super 14 encounter with the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.

Cordingley has recovered from the calf injury which kept him out of last weekend's defeat to the Sharks.

However prop Rodney Blake has been forced to withdraw with an ankle injury sustained at training.

His place on the bench has been taken by Ben Coutts in one of three changes to the reserve line-up.

Brando Va'aulu replaces Digby Ioane, who returned home during the week with a broken finger, while Ben Lucas drops back to the bench to make room for Cordingley, forcing Will Genia out of the 22.

The Cheetahs are still searching for their first win in the competition but have picked up six bonus points in seven matches, five of them for losing by seven points or less.

"The Cheetahs are a far better side than their 13th place suggests and they're going to break that duck sooner or later. We'd just prefer it was later," Reds coach Phil Mooney said in a statement.
