Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad is scheduled on January 12 to start a four-day tour of Latin America.
The trip will include talks with the presidents of Venezuela, Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Bolivia.
The tour is seen by some in the West as a bid to secure Iran's alliances with fellow critics of U.S. policies.
