Music Director Osmo Vänskä and the Minnesota Orchestra prepare for a trip to the Big Apple with concerts on April 10 and 11 featuring music by Mahler, Schumann and Sibelius.

The same program, which showcases German pianist Lars Vogt in the Schumann Piano Concerto, as well as a performance of Mahler's dramatic First Symphony, will be presented at New York's Lincoln Center on April 13.

Vänskä, renowned for his interpretations of Sibelius works, conducts the Finnish composer's rarely-heard tone poem The Dryad to open the performances.

The concerts are held at Orchestra Hall on Thursday, April 10, at 11 a.m., and Friday, April 11, at 8 p.m., with ticket prices ranging from $21 to $83. -- www.minnesotaorchestra.org
