Of the winners, four soloists and the school's Ensemble 1 members were invited to perform at the finals on April 16-21, 2008, in New York City. In addition, Jamey Leverett received the Outstanding Choreographer Award and Lyndette Galen received the Outstanding Teacher Award.
"With more than 30 schools participating in the competition, we are extremely proud of our students for achieving such tremendous results at the Grand Prix semi-finals," said Managing Director John Toohey. "We congratulate all of our dancers for receiving these honors and wish them luck as they get ready for the finals in April."
Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) is the only student ballet competition in America which awards scholarships to the leading dance schools in the U.S. and abroad. The annual competition in New York City is open to dance students of all nationalities 9-19 years old. -- www.texasballettheater.org
