Sydney Opera Presents Comedy Festival

Sibling rivalry has never been so funny. Named Best Australian Act at the 2007 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Lawrence Leung Learns to Breakdance is one man's hip-shattering quest for coolness. Sleeping in a bunk bed until the age of 24, it's fair to say Lawrence Leung has never been cool.

Join him in The Studio as he encounters trendy fashionistas, road-tests professional pick-up lines and stumbles head-first into a hardcore breakdancing championship - all in an attempt to settle the score with his infinitely-cooler, bass guitar-playing brother.

But just what is "coolness"? Is it all a myth? And does doing a show about the notion of cool ultimately make one uncool? You decide.

Lawrence Leung is an award-winning Melbourne-based comic, radio host and TV writer. His Edinburgh Fringe debut in 2002, Sucker, won the Best Solo Show at the Melbourne Fringe and has since gained Australian Film Commission funding for its screenplay adaptation.

He returned to Edinburgh in 2003 with Sceptic, a comedy show about his ghost hunting exploits around Scotland, and then with Somewhat Secret Secret Society Show two years later.

He currently writes satirical sketches for The Chaser's War on Everything and appears regularly on breakfast radio as the resident purveyor of all things obscure.

An immensely entertaining and charming show, the hilarious breakdancing finale will have every audience member cheering for Lawrence Leung, the coolest geek in town The List (UK). The festival will run from April 15 to 27. -- www.sydneyoperahouse.com
