Power to share around Brown burden

Port Adelaide has prepared a contingent of big men to tackle Brisbane linchpin Jonathan Brown at Football Park tonight.

Brown's giant frame and match-winning goal-kicking looms as a huge threat to the Power who are yet to win a match this season.

Coach Mark Williams says Port has several options to shut down the dangerous half-forward but will wait and see how the game unfolds.

"There'll be Chad [Cornes], there'll be Toby [Thurstans], there'll be Alipate [Carlile] and there'll be [Troy] Chaplin, any of those four at any time," he said.

"Really depending on the other setups, if Brown's going to play and stand in the goal-square all day Chad Cornes won't be playing on him," he said.

A loss to arch enemies the Crows last week was a crushing blow for the Power, but Williams says all is not lost and there is a long way to go until the finals.

"No doubt that you have to start winning at some stage but at the end of the year I think you probably need 12 or 13 wins to get in the finals," he said.

"Obviously we are 12 or 13 away, but there's a lot of games to go and we'll look forward to winning this week."

The Lions have identified Chad Cornes as the biggest threat to their chase for a second win of the season.

Brisbane midfielder Simon Black says the visitors must target the versatile and influential Cornes.

"He's been a bit like an Adam Goodes, where he floats around, he gets his hands on the ball time and again and he uses it very well," he said.
