The phenomenon known as The Celtic Tenors hits Vancouver with their VSO debut on Wednesday, January 24th! The Celtic Tenors will perform their unique blend of Classical repertoire, folk music, traditional Irish songs, and popular tunes, with the extraordinary sounds of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Their combination of beautiful voices, character and wit gives their shows vitality from start to finish.
The Celtic Tenors have sung for Bill Clinton and Kofi Annan, topped the charts in Ireland, the UK and Germany, reached the top ten on US Billboard charts, and performed with such diverse talents as The Dubliners, Samantha Mumba, Air Supply, and Dionne Warwick - they are truly Ireland's most successful Classical crossover artists.
Soprano Deirdre Shannon performs with them. Her ability with diverse singing styles has made her equally comfortable performing and recording with a wide range of artists such as The Chieftains, Michael Crawford and Elvis Costello, and in 1997 she was chosen by Michael Flatley to be the soloist in his smash hit sensation Lord of the Dance.
