The VSO's Symphony at the Roundhouse is a three-concert series curated by VSO Composer-in-Residence Jeffrey Ryan. The series presents exciting contemporary music concerts, including works from many Canadian composers, in the funky, intimate surroundings of the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown.
This season sees the three concerts conducted by Alain Trudel, Bramwell Tovey, and Ken Hsieh respectively. Also featured in starring roles are two members of the orchestra: Principal Percussion Vern Griffiths and Principal Bassoon Sophie Dansereau. The VSO also partners with the PuSh Festival on January 20th, and the International Dance Festival on March 12th.
The first concert on January 20th is a wide-ranging programme exploring the intersection of music, art, theatre, and text - in keeping with the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival spirit.
