Yesterday, Gospel stars DeWayne Woods, Micah Stampley and Antwaun Stanley joined the Cheyney University Choir to raise up their voices for change at North Philadelphia's Bright Hope Baptist Church.

The "Embrace the Change" concert was hosted by actress Sheryl Lee Ralph ("Dreamgirls," "Designing Women") and singer/radio host Minister Lonnie Hunter. Speakers included Bright Hope pastor Kevin Johnson, Congressman Chaka Fattah and Obama for America's Pennsylvania Director of Outreach Michael Blake.

Underlining the significance of this moment in history, Michael told a story about civil rights icon Reverend Joseph Lowery, who told him during the Iowa campaign last December how he wished he could "use his high-tech iPhone to call into the past and reach Martin Luther King."

"I'd say, 'Martin, there is a picture of a black man on the front page of the paper - and he is the front-runner for President of the United States,'" said Rev. Lowery, who co-founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference with Dr. King.

Bishop Terrence D. Griffith of the Black Clergy of Philadelphia urged attendees to help make history by voting Tuesday - and by helping to get out the vote across Philadelphia.
